Centre to Boost Deeptech Innovation with Major Allocation from ₹10,000 Cr Fund of Funds: Piyush Goyal
He urged startup founders to share their ideas and feedback to further enhance ease of doing business

Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has announced a significant allocation for deeptech startups under the Centre’s ₹10,000-crore Fund of Funds initiative, reaffirming the government’s role as a facilitator in India’s innovation journey.
Speaking at Startup Mahakumbh 2025, Goyal said he has asked SIDBI to focus on supporting smaller startups and establish a centre in every state to assist entrepreneurs.
He urged startup founders to share their ideas and feedback to further enhance ease of doing business, emphasising that innovation in deeptech, AI, and data analytics will be central to India’s global innovation push. “This is the foundation for India’s future in tech and innovation. We will make our mark on the global stage,” he said.
Goyal also called on Indian investors to step up and support homegrown startups, highlighting the exceptional work being done by young entrepreneurs.
This comes amid recent backlash over his remarks on food delivery startups, which he criticised for lacking innovation—despite his earlier praise of India’s vibrant startup ecosystem and its potential to generate employment.
