Databricks and Anthropic Partner to Help Businesses Build AI Agents

Databricks has announced a five-year strategic partnership with Anthropic AI to integrate Anthropic’s AI models and services into the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.

Through this collaboration, customers can access Claude 3.7 Sonnet, Anthropic’s latest AI reasoning model, via Databricks on Amazon Web Services, Azure, and Google Cloud.

Claude 3.7 Sonnet is Anthropic’s most advanced AI model yet, excelling in complex tasks such as agentic reasoning, multi-step planning, and multi-turn conversations with extended context.

It also offers deep document and data comprehension. As the first hybrid reasoning model, it allows developers to control its “thinking time” and inspect reasoning steps—an essential feature for building transparent and trustworthy AI agents.

The partnership aims to help enterprises build, deploy, and evaluate AI agents while ensuring accuracy, security, and access control.

Beyond AI agent development, businesses can also customize Claude models or fine-tune them with enterprise data to create tailored AI solutions.

“As demand for data intelligence grows, our partnership with Anthropic allows enterprises to unlock the full potential of their data through AI. We are bringing the power of Anthropic models directly to the Data Intelligence Platform—securely, efficiently, and at scale," Ali Ghodsi, co-founder and CEO of Databricks, said.
