Google Says Code Assist can now Deploy AI Agents

On April 10, Google announced major updates to its AI coding tool, Gemini Code Assist, now in preview, TechCrunch reported.
The upgraded version introduces “agentic” features—AI agents that can handle complex, multi-step programming tasks like:
- Building apps from specs in Google Docs
- Translating code between languages
- Adding new features
- Generating unit tests
