Jio, Nokia, AMD, and Cisco Collaborate on AI-Driven Telecom Platform for Enhanced Efficiency
The Open Telecom AI Platform, which will debut with Jio as its first customer, is poised to set a global benchmark for telecom operators.

Mukesh Ambani-led Jio Platforms, in collaboration with global technology giants like Nokia, AMD, and Cisco, has unveiledthat an innovative Open AI platform which seamlessly integrates AI and automation across various network operations, leveraging advancements in Radio Access Network (RAN), routing, AI data centers, and security.
With its multi-domain intelligence framework, it creates a centralised intelligence layer that optimizes management and performance.
Announced at the Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona, this cutting-edge initiative aims to enhance network efficiency, security, and operational intelligence while unlocking new revenue streams for telecom service providers.
The Open Telecom AI Platform, which will debut with Jio as its first customer, is poised to set a global benchmark for telecom operators.
Mathew Oommen, Group CEO of Reliance Jio, emphasised the transformative potential of the platform, calling it a "multimodal, multidomain orchestrated workflow" system that will reshape telecom efficiency, intelligence, and security. The platform is also designed to support multiple Large Language Models (LLMs) and Small Language Models (SLMs), offering flexibility across diverse applications.
Lisa Su, Chair and CEO of AMD, highlighted how the company’s high-performance computing solutions will bolster the platform’s scalability, security, and efficiency. She stressed the significant role AI plays in transforming connectivity and communications, benefiting both telecom operators and consumers.
In addition, Pekka Lundmark, President and CEO of Nokia, pointed out that Nokia’s deep expertise in RAN, core networks, fixed broadband, and IP & optical transport will be instrumental in advancing the platform’s capabilities, helping to drive network optimization and automation.
Jio Platforms is also developing a cloud-based "personal computer" (PC) that will enable users to run compute-intensive AI applications without the need for traditional hardware.
During a fireside chat at Mumbai Tech Week 2025, Akash Ambani, Chairman of Jio Infocomm, shared details about the upcoming cloud PC, which will be device-agnostic, allowing compatibility across all consumer PC brands. The offering will function entirely in the cloud, eliminating the need for physical hardware.
“We’re launching a cloud PC soon—a fully functional PC in the cloud, accessible in homes, and completely device-agnostic. No hardware required. You’ll be able to build high-compute AI applications on this platform and benefit from Jio’s extensive reach,” Ambani explained during the event on February 28.
